Professional experience: Graduated from Rostov University -1963; Candidate of Science (Organic chemistry) - 1969; Doctor of Science (Organic and Physical Chemistry)-1986. Professor – 1988. Rostov University: Post Graduate (1965-1968); Research Associate (1969-1977); Head of Laboratory (1977-1981). Deputy Director of the Institute of Physical and Organic Chemistry (1981-2012). Director of the Institute of Physical and Organic Chemistry (2012-date).

Society membership: Russian Academy of Natural Sciences: Corresponding member - 1998; International Academy of High School (Russia): Corresponding Member - 1995.
Professional awards: The Ministry of Higher Education Award for the Excellence in Profession - 2000.

Areas of interest:

  • Tautomerism, fast and reversible intramolecular rearrangements due to atoms and groups;
  • Photochromism (azomethines, norbornadienes, fulgides). Abiotic Solar energy storage molecular systems;
  • Chemosensors.

Research grants: RF Ministry of Higher Education, Russian Foundation for Basic Research, International Science (Soros) Foundation, International Association (INTAS) for Promotion of Collaboration with Scientists from the Former Soviet Union (INTAS), Civil Research and Development Foundation (USA), Council for National Research and Science (CNRS, France), International Scientific and Technical Center.

For the period of 1970-2006 superviser research work of 10 graduate students and associates who defended their Candidate and Doctor of Sci. theses. 

Publications: More than 200 papers in refereed international and Russian chemical journals, 9 patents, more than 100 abstracts of conference presentation.
